The Treaty #3 Police Service responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on Onigaming First Nation on Thursday around 9:30 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers located a deceased male.
The OPP’s North West Region Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, was called in to assist with the homicide investigation.
The victim was identified as a 45-year-old male from Onigaming First Nation.
A post-mortem examination was completed Saturday at Lake of the Woods Hospital in Kenora, but police are not releasing the cause of death pending completion of their investigation.
