A Sioux Narrows man was killed in an overnight collision on Highway 71 near Caliper Lake.
Brian Beacham, 42, was driving a passenger van northbound when he collided with a southbound tractor-trailer unit in the southbound lane, police reported this morning.
The accident occurred around midnight in the area of Caliper Lake, about six km south of Nestor Falls.
The OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit was called in to assist with the investigation.
Highway 71 was closed at the time of the accident to allow for the examination of the scene, police said.
It was re-opened about 10 hours later after debris had been removed from the roadway.
No other injuries were reported.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
