Police need public’s help to solve crime

The Fort Frances OPP is seeking assistance from the public in solving a break and enter which occurred early Friday morning.
Shortly before 5 a.m., unknown suspects attended at the MTO licensing office situated at 213 Second Street East, and unlawfully entered into the building.
Damage was sustained to the interior of the building and a sum of money was taken.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122,d or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
In other police news, Fort Frances OPP officers stopped a vehicle on the 700 block of Stewart Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday.
As a result of the traffic stop, a 37-year-old Quebec man was arrested and charged with breach of recognizance, failing to provide a breath sample into a roadside screening device, driving while under suspension, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
He was held in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
Also over the weekend, OPP officers laid 17 charges under the Liquor Licence Act for a variety of offences.
