Police kept busy with mischiefs on weekend

Fort Frances OPP is investigating two incidents of arson that occurred Friday on the 1000 block of Williams Avenue.
Sometime after 10:30 p.m., culprit(s) entered two separate vehicles and started a fire inside each one.
The OPP has collected evidence from each scene, and is continuing the investigation with the co-operation of the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office.
Meanwhile, police received numerous complaints Saturday of mischief involving extensive property damage.
Investigation revealed that culprit(s) smashed side-view mirrors of several vehicles, scratched the paint on vehicles, and damaged a trolling motor.
The damage occurred in the area around the 1000 and 1100 blocks of both Scott Street East and Second Street East.
OPP officers attended all the residences where the occurrences were reported, collecting evidence and taking photographs of all the damaged property.
As well, all the residents in the area were canvassed by police for witness statements.
The OPP is urging the public to contact police or Crime Stoppers should they have any information pertaining to these crimes.
