The Northwestern Health Unit posted Pither’s Point beach as “unsafe for swimming” early Friday afternoon due to high bacterial counts found during routine sampling.
The beach will remain closed until satisfactory test results are obtained from continued sampling, the health unit said.
The latest closure came just one day after the health unit had re-opened the beach to swimmers after it had been off limits for a week.
The health unit will conduct a sanitary survey upstream of Pither’s Point to determine possible sources of pollution, it said.
