Allene Perusse will be recognized by the Northwest Catholic District School Board tonight for her involvement with its Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).
Superintendent of Education Joanne Querel said Perusse has been a long-standing member of the committee, serving in the position of chair for more than 10 years.
Representing the Community Living Association of Fort Frances on SEAC, Perusse brings many years of expertise in that field to the table.
“[She] ensures the committee is kept abreast of information, issues, and professional development opportunities related to the field of Adult Community Living,” Querel noted in a report to the board.
“Allene selflessly contributes to the smooth functioning of SEAC,” Querel said.
“Her commitment extends beyond the regularly-scheduled monthly SEAC meetings to include past attendance at ministry consultations and conferences,” she added.
“She has been a constant, reliable presence on the committee.”
Also at tonight’s regular monthly meeting, trustees will:
•make a decision regarding the future of Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton;
•submit feedback to the Ministry of Education identifying strengths and concerns of the Draft Before-and-After School Programs Kindergarten-Grade 6;
•look to approve a revision to the Northwestern Ontario Student Services Consortium Transportation Policy; and
•receive a student enrolment update showing totals from Sept. 2 and Oct. 31.
