One of the local Lions Peace Poster winners has gone on to the next level of competition.
The poster created by Maggie LeMesurier of Robert Moore School made it through the district level of judging and has advanced to the multiple district level.
If the 13-year-old makes it through that level, her poster will continue onto the international level.
This year’s theme was “Imagine.”
On her poster, LeMesurier wrote: “We owe it to our Mother (mother earth) to treat her right and give her our best.”
Her poster depicts Mother Earth exhaling—giving the breath of life of all the peoples and nations of the world.
Also pictured is a dove with an olive branch in its beak.
Other local peace posters that advanced to the district level earlier this month were made by Cassidy McKinnon (Crossroads School), Abby Sanders (St. Francis), and Callahan Wiedenhoeft (J.W. Walker).
