PAUL CARUSO

My name is Paul Caruso and I am a candidate for Rainy River council in the upcoming municipal election.
I am a resident of Rainy River and the owner/operator of Busy Beaver Fuels and the Rainy River Current.
I always have had a passion for my community and my workplace. Everyone wants to live in a community that is progressive and work in a workplace that is safe and supportive.
My 39-year career in Northern Ontario has involved roles in the mining industry. During my 20 years of leadership with the United Steel Workers, I have held positions as a union steward and O.S.H.E. representative. I have been a member of accident investigations and have held positions including industrial mechanic, maintenance leader, supervisor, hoist specialist, project planner, and team leader.
My background working with unions and management to improve the efficiency and safety of the workplace has given me the skills I believe will make me a strong member of the council team.
It is critical that there be strong leadership and communication at the council table if we are to realize the potential our community has. I want to contribute to helping our community realize that potential.
I am committed to working hard, to listening to your concerns and ideas, and to working with my fellow members of council to move this community forward.
