‘Pasta Palooza’ put off

The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has postponed its first-ever pasta cook-off until Friday, Nov. 3.
Organizers decided this morning to move “Pasta Palooza,” which was set for next Wednesday (Sept. 27) upstairs at the Memorial Sports Centre, until later in the fall in order to get more teams signed up to participate.
“Everyone’s been more in summer mode, cabin mode,” noted Chamber executive director Jennifer Soderholm, saying just five teams were confirmed as of today.
Organizers were aiming for at least eight and as many as 12.
“So we’re going to postpone it and hopefully pick up some more businesses that would want to participate at that point in time,” Soderholm said.
“We just want to make sure that people get their money’s worth and really have a good time,” she added.
The event still will take place upstairs at the arena and be at the same time (4:30-7:30 p.m.)
Any businesses wanting to get on board for the pasta cook-off can do so anytime between now and then, said Soderholm.
Some businesses already have expressed an interest in taking part on the new date.
Rules and registration forms can be obtained from the Chamber office.
