The gastroenteritis and respiratory outbreaks at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home are still in effect as of today.
All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities are cancelled until further notice. Visitors to the home are restricted to family members and caregivers only.
Riverside Health Care continues to ask family members to restrict their visits to the resident’s room (please do not be visiting in common areas) and refrain from visiting other residents who are not immediate family while at Rainycrest.
The Northwestern Health Unit is urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting if you are feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable: young infants and children, the elderly and those with other chronic illnesses.
The public is also reminded to help prevent getting and spreading infections by washing hands often, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
The Outbreak Management Team at Rainycrest will continue to monitor the situation.
