OSB rate unchanged

Press Release

The interest rate set at 1.25 percent for Variable-Rate Ontario Savings Bonds (OSB) will remain unchanged for the next six months.
This update does not affect the Fixed-Rate and Step-Up Ontario Savings Bonds.
Variable-Rate Bonds are one of three OSB investment options that are available annually to Ontarians.
“Ontario Savings Bonds are an investment option unique to Ontarians that help build a stronger economy and support what’s most important to Ontario families: health care, education, and infrastructure,” said Finance minister Dwight Duncan.
A new variable rate will be set in June, 2011.
Ontarians may purchase OSBs during the first three weeks of June.
They are available in accessible amounts ranging from $100 up to $500,000 for Ontario investors.
