On Tuesday, Oct. 5, Rainy River District OPP officers, with assistance from the OPP Northwest Region K-9 officer, responded to an alarm at Emo Drugs.
Officers discovered the front door to the store had been broken.
Upon arrival, police investigation revealed the culprit had entered the building and stole several different types of prescription medications before fleeing the scene.
Michael Cochrane, 22, of Mitaanjigaming FN was arrested and charged with several criminal offences.
Through further investigation with the assistance of the Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team, it was determined Cochrane was involved in another break-and-enter at Emo Drugs back on Aug. 10.
The criminal charges include:
•two counts of break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offence;
•four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
•one count of drug possession.
Cochrane was released from custody with conditions.
He appeared in court last Thursday (Oct. 7).
