On March 16, the Fort Frances Community Drug Action Team, Thunder Bay Joint Forces Drug Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Rainy River OPP officers, and the OPP Northwest Region K-9 Unit executed a search warrant in Rainy River.
As a result of an investigation, police seized a substantial quantity of money, as well as a large quantity of prescription medication, including Oxycodone tablets, codeine tablets, and methylphenidate tablets (Ritalin).
The estimated street value of all the drugs is $4,410.
Marcel Gouliquer, 57, of Rainy River has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Rainy River in May.
Also on March 16, police conducted two investigations in which they seized a substantial amount of marijuana.
Officers seized 34 marijuana plants and 674 grams of dried marijuana bud from a residence in Rainy River, with an estimated street value of $47,480.
In addition, officers seized 186 grams of dried marijuana bud from a residence in Emo, with an estimated street value of $3,720.
These matters are still under investigation.
