As a kick-off of Tourism Week, the local Ontario Travel Information Centre is offering a chance to win four getaways in Ontario.
All one needs to do is fill out a ballot at the centre (located across the street from Canada Customs).
The centre also will be hosting an open house tomorrow starting at 10 a.m., with cake and coffee, to acknowledge the artists who designed the banners as part of Phase II of the local heritage tourism project.
Bev Noga, regional team leader (Northwest Region), thinks Tourism Week is a great way to start off the summer.
“It gets a lot of people so they know what the information centre is all about,” she explained.
“A lot of people haven’t been in the building, so we try and network with a lot of people to let people know what we have to offer.
“I think it gives local industry the opportunity to come into the centre and do free advertising,” Noga added, noting this is the busy time for the centre.
Each of the grand prizes up for grabs is worth around $3,000. The public can enter until July 4, with the draws being made July 12.
One prize gives the winner a chance to check out what Ontario’s Great North has to offer.
This package includes two nights’ accommodation, meals, and attractions in the three northern cities of North Bay, Sudbury, and Wawa.
Another prize gives the recipient a chance to get a taste of four different resorts during all four seasons.
The package includes two nights’ accommodation, with meals, at Westwind Inn near Peterborough, Viamede Resort in Woodview, Bayview Wildwood Resort at Severn Bridge, and Patterson-Kaye Lodge in Bracebridge.
The “City Break and Country Escape” getaway gives people the chance to get the best of both worlds with a vacation in Toronto and an escape to Muskoka.
The trip includes two nights at the Toronto Delta Chelsea Hotel, with meals and attractions passes, plus two nights at the Delta Grandview Resort, with meals and golf.
The final package gives the winner a one-week rental of a deluxe 30-foot motorhome, as well as free mileage up to 1,500 km, free insurance, and free set-up and pump out.
