One new fire start

One new fire was confirmed in the Northwest Region by mid-afternoon yesterday.
Sioux Lookout Fire #167 was located on an island in Abram Lake, about five km southwest of the town of Sioux Lookout.
The 0.1-hectare blaze was listed as “not under control” at last report.
There currently are 23 active fires in the region, including one listed as “not under control,” one as “under control,” and 21 fires as “under observation.”
Five fires were declared “out.”
The fire hazard remains “low” across the Northwest Region.
