Oktoberfest coming up in Baudette

The 14th annual Oktoberfest, with hands across the border, is coming to Baudette Mn. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26, 27 and 28th.
Old Tyme Country music for dancing or listening in the Big Tent with wooden floor. Bands playing include, White Rose Band, Country Polkateers, Frontiersman, Odell Braaten, Sindelir’s Band.
Admission requires collectors pin $7, Friday 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Sat. 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday authentic German food, brats and polish sausage, German potato salad, potato pancakes are just some of the foods served. Smorgasbord Saturday at 4 p.m. Sunday breakfast pancakes and sausage, 8 to 10 a.m. and 12 to 1 p.m.
Polka Mass on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. with Country Polkateers playing until 1:30 p.m.
Saturday will also have a Craft Fair 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafters may contact Muriel Kloer 218-634-2505. Beer, pop, and free coffee served in the big tent.

Stratton seniors’ next potluck is slated for Sept. 18. For entertainment Irene Olson will show a movie of the Stratton Centennial parade.

Bergland Ladies Quilters will be starting quilting classes again in Oct. with the radiant star pattern, on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. (or longer).
They are also teaching a young girls group, ages 9 years and up, sponsored by Women’s Institute.

Bingo fans might like to try their luck at the Bergland hall on Tuesdays, doors open at 6 p.m. with early bird at 6:45, regular games start at 7 p.m., whereas card players enjoy Smear on Fridays at 7 p.m.

Jenny Metcalfe of The Pas, Man. came to visit her grandparents, Gerry and Merve Brown for the long weekend. While she was here they called in on “aunt” Jo Benson of Fort Frances and other relatives.
