Sr. Mary Pilar Verzosa, a Good Shepherd Sister who has set up crisis pregnancy centres and Pro-Life chapters around the Philippines, will speak in the basement of St. Mary’s Catholic Church here this Sunday (Sept. 20) at 12:15 p.m.
Sr. Pilar will share about the economic, social, spiritual, and health challenges Filipino families are facing, and the ways in which people are coping and are supported in their crises.
Sr. Pilar has represented the Catholic Bishop’s Council of the Philippines Office on Women at the Beijing and New York World Conferences of Women.
As part of her commitment to finding the best resources for her Philippine-wide Counselling Centres for Women and Children, she is in Fort Frances for a class on stress reduction techniques called “BodyTalk Access,” which adults or children can easily learn and apply to themselves.
Sr. Pilar’s talk is open to the public, and everyone is welcome.
