NTAB to attend Chamber meeting

Press Release

The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce will hold its general meeting this Tuesday (Nov. 28) from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. upstairs at La Place Rendez-Vous.
The general meeting is an important meeting for member businesses as it fulfills the need for our organization to be accountable.
It also enables members in good standing to participate in the governance or leadership of the Chamber.
The meeting gives the Chamber an opportunity to communicate with members, as well as fulfill the legal requirement of a non-profit organization under the Incorporations Act of Ontario or Canada.
At the general meeting, members enjoy the reports on the year’s activities, ask questions about the financial statements, and pass a motion to accept the slate of board members as presented.
They also hear from the elected chair of the board.
This year’s guest speaker with be Sonja Wainio, executive director for the Northwest Training and Adjustment Board.
She will be discussing:
•what the Northwest Training and Adjustment Board is;
•some of its deliverables/partnerships;
•who its partners and stakeholders are/can be;
•its current Employer One survey; and
•some of the outreach and linkages NTAB does to promote the district.
The Chamber is pleased to offer this presentation to our membership, and feels it will be beneficial to have an NTAB rep come to speak and answer questions.
