In order to get rid of the winter blues, staff at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts here are planning a tropical getaway celebration for Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m.
“We just want people to have a fun time, pamper themselves, and break up those winter blues,” enthused Neila Booth.
Aside from an array of “tropical” decorations, including hammocks and a fountain to make attendees feel like they are in paradise, other businesses will be coming in to provide certain services.
Booth noted they hope to have people offering hand massages and doing nails while travel agencies will have lists of their hot getaway vacation deals.
Food and drinks also will be available.
In addition to offering discounts on certain items, Northwoods staff will be modelling the store’s new line of cruise ware. They also have in stock a new shipment of passport books and luggage tags.
“We hope it will be a fun night, especially for those who aren’t going on a trip,” said Booth. “Instead we’ll bring the tropics to Fort Frances.”
She added staff are planning monthly themes at the Scott Street business.
Following the “tropical getaway” theme will be a bridal show in March and then a “tea party” in April.
