In July, Mill Street & Co. announced that its subsidiary, the Fastway Group, had entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the business operations of North American Lumber.
This transaction was not able to be completed.
President Martha Konantz would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of North American Lumber for all their hard work and preparation over the last five months.
North American Lumber will continue to serve local communities at its 11 locations in Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, providing a broad range of products, including lumber, hardware, and building materials.
Its strengths include long-term staff with superior product knowledge, a proven and recognized commitment to customer satisfaction, and motivated managers who are closely involved in the communities in which they live and work.
For more than 110 years, this has resulted in a broad base of loyal customers and an excellent reputation in all the markets it serves.
North American Lumber’s corporate head office is located in Winnipeg.
Konantz, the fourth generation of the Konantz family to lead the company, continues to look for a succession plan which successfully will transition the company to new ownership and continue the legacy of this great brand.
