Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc., which operates Rainycrest Long Term Care here, is declining to comment on the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a resident there last week.
Martin Selman, 75, was discovered deceased in his residence in the early-morning hours of last Monday (June 22).
When contacted by the Fort Frances Times yesterday afternoon, Riverside CEO Wayne Woods stated he had “no comment” regarding the situation.
The Fort Frances OPP, meanwhile, stated yesterday there were no further updates since its original press release issued late Thursday morning.
A post-mortem examination was conducted at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, and members of the North West Region Crime Unit are assisting in the investigation, the press release stated.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of the coroner’s office and further information will be released if it becomes available, it also noted.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Fort Frances OPP detachment.
