No new fires here

No new fires were reported in the West Fire Region by yesterday evening.
There were, however, seven active fires, including four in Thunder Bay District, two in Nipigon District, and one here in Fort Frances District.
Fort Frances Fire #6, a lightning-caused blaze located in the southwest portion of Quetico Provincial Park, currently is being monitored as it will benefit the ecological integrity and health of the area.
Nipigon Fire #17, located about 30 km south of Lake Nipigon, is lightning-caused and currently classed as “under control” at 2.0 hectares in size.
Nipigon Fire #18, located in the Black Bay Peninsula, also is lightning-caused and listed as “under control” at 2.5 ha.
Thunder Bay Fire #26, located about 15 km northwest of Shebandowan, is lightning-caused and classed as “under control” at 3.5 ha.
Thunder Bay Fire #27, 35 km southeast of Rinker Lake, is lightning-caused and classed as “under control” at 1.5 ha in size.
Meanwhile, two fires in the Wabakimi Provincial Park both are listed as “under control.”
They are being monitored as both fires will benefit the ecological integrity and health of the area.
