New Year’s baby born this morning

The first baby of 2003 here is a 6 lb., 12 oz. girl who was born to Jeff and Candace Johnson at 9:06 a.m. on Thursday at La Verendrye hospital.
The baby girl, who was not named as of press time, also is the first baby of the town’s centennial year—and eventually will be presented with a special centennial quilt made by the local Sew ’n Sews club.
