The Rainy River District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Cam Keast to the position of vice-principal of Robert Moore School, effective in September.
Keast brings to the position 24 years of teaching experience at the elementary level, and has been dedicated to Robert Moore School student achievement for 16 years as an intermediate division teacher.
He has demonstrated leadership at the system level and school level through his involvement in various committees and curriculum initiatives, in his role as principal designate, and through years of coaching athletics and co-ordinating tournaments and inter-school sporting events.
In support of board initiatives, Keast pursued professional development in Differentiated Instruction, PRIME, Later Literacy, and French-Histoires en Action Gestures, implementing these programs and strategies into his classroom practices and sharing this valuable knowledge with colleagues.
He works effectively and collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and members of the school community.
“I firmly believe that the initiatives our board has undertaken to improve student achievement have provided increased opportunity for our students to learn,” Keast said.
“I am also a strong proponent of extra-curricular activities, and I think these are an essential component of a well-rounded education,” he added.
