New school on schedule

Construction continues to roll along on schedule for the new Robert Moore School.
“It’s moving along,” Raymond Roy, manager of plant operations for the Rainy River District School Board, said about the building progress of the new school.
“It’s coming together.”
The project remains on schedule to have students start there this fall, he noted.
Items such as the school’s H-VAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems all have been delivered to the site, meaning there will be no delays in the future waiting for these to arrive, Roy explained.
The new school will be roughly 51,000 sq. ft. in size, and will accommodate about 480 students.
There will be 10 junior and intermediate classrooms, seven primary classrooms, and four junior/senior kindergarten classrooms.
Other features of the school include a music room that can be converted into a stage for performances that is attached to the 52’ x 90’ gymnasium, in-floor heating for the kindergarten section of the school, two computer labs, a special education room, a healing/reading room, and a library.
