FORT FRANCES—The new general manager at the AbitibiBowater mill here is Derrick Lindgren, who most recently managed the one in Iroquois Falls.
Lindgren will start his new job here Monday.
Lindgren’s position at the Iroquois Falls mill, meanwhile, will be taken over by Jean-François Guillot.
Over the next few months, Guillot will share his time between Iroquois Falls and Bridgewater (United Kingdom), where he currently is site manager.
Former Fort Frances mill manager John Harrison, who it was announced last month would be taking a new position with the company, has joined the Operational Excellence Group.
His main mandates include the optimization of all kraft operations and the improvement of overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
Harrison will continue to be based out of the mill office here, although his mandate goes beyond the local operation.
“Derrick, Jean-François, and John’s extensive experience will support our efforts in achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement,” AbitibiBowater said in a press release this morning.
“Please join us in welcoming them to their new responsibilities,” it added.
