The AbitibiBowater mill here will see a new general manager next week.
Effective May 9, Andre Bernier will be joining the company.
Bernier has been working in the pulp and paper industry for more than 30 years.
During his career, he’s held various management positions in kraft pulp mills with different companies.
His latest assignment was general manager for Catalyst at the Crofton pulp and paper mill in B.C.
Bernier’s “leadership and experience will help the Fort Frances mill to meet its business objectives,” the company said.
Derrick Lindgren, who has been general manager at the local mill since last April, will become general manager of AbitibiBowater’s operation in Usk, Wash. (commonly referred to as the company’s Ponderay operation) as of June 1.
