Dr. Cynthia Saliba will be joining the Nelson Medicine Professional Group as a family physician starting Wednesday (Sept. 1), the Fort Frances Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee reported this morning.
She also will join her colleagues in providing team approach primary care with nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals of the Fort Frances Family Health Team, according to a press release issued by the committee.
Dr. Saliba, who hails from Thunder Bay, completed her medical training at the University of Ottawa and has chosen to begin her practise in Fort Frances.
Her husband, Dave Van Dyk, also will be settling in Fort Frances. He is an elementary school teacher and avid golfer.
“We are very excited that Dr. Saliba is coming to Fort Frances to begin her practise,” enthused Maureen Gartshore, who chairs the Fort Frances Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee.
“She will be a great addition to the medical group at Nelson Medicine, and provide much-needed relief in serving the primary health-care needs of the residents of Fort Frances and surrounding area,” Gartshore added.
“The Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee is very happy to welcome Cynthia and Dave to our community.”
