Janice Beazley, chair of the North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), is pleased to announce that Dennis Gushulak of Ear Falls has been appointed to the board of directors.
Gushulak’s three-year appointment by the Lieutenant Governor-in-Council was endorsed by Health and Long-Term Care minister Deb Matthews.
A retired teacher and vice-principal, Gushulak has had many years of involvement in the fields of education and health care.
His previous community involvement includes being a member and board chair of the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital, director and board chair of the Ear Falls Community Health Centre, steering committee member for the organization of the Ear Falls Family Health Team, an elected trustee member of the Ontario Hospital Association’s Regional Council Executive Committee, and an appointed trustee member of the OHA’s Small, Rural and Northern Executive Leadership Council Committee.
Currently, Gushulak is a director and treasurer of the Ear Falls Chukuni Christmas Cheer board, treasurer of the local unit of the Occasional Elementary Teachers, and president of the Red Lake unit of the Retired Teachers of Ontario.
He also is presently appointed to the Retired Teachers of Ontario Provincial Member Services Committee.
A number of terms will be expiring on the North West LHIN board of directors commencing in January.
