Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Darryl Galusha as the new administrator of Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home here.
In this capacity, he also will become senior director, responsible for seniors’ services, for Riverside.
Galusha is originally from Fort Frances, and coming home played a significant role in his decision to accept this important and challenging position.
He starts Monday, July 15.
“First, on behalf of Riverside Health Care, I wish to thank Edie Bodnar for delaying her retirement to allow us the time to recruit Darryl,” said Riverside president and CEO Allan Katz.
“Her patience was remarkable, and directly speaks to her commitment and dedication to seniors’ care in Rainy River District” noted Katz.
“For that, we owe her our deepest gratitude.”
“We are equally grateful that Darryl has decided to join our senior leadership team, lead Rainycrest, and accept this important portfolio,” added Katz.
“He clearly communicated his passion and energy for
long-term care, and possesses an exceptional track record from his Kenora District experience.”
Galusha spent the last 13 years in Kenora, working nine years as a supervisor at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and the last four years at the District of Kenora Home for the Aged.
He was employed as the director of care for Pinecrest Home for the Aged while simultaneously holding the position of assistant district administrator for the homes in Dryden and Red Lake.
Galusha is married to Leah, a nurse practitioner and regional co-ordinator of the Registered Practical Nursing program at Confederation College.
Together they have two children—a 13-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son.
“I feel that I am lucky to have this opportunity to come home after this many years,” said Galusha.
“I look forward to serving the needs of the seniors in the community.”
