Press Release
Northern Community Development Services (NCDS) has completed all the renovations!
We would like to invite the people of Rainy River District to join us for an “open house” celebration this Thursday (March 24) from 3-7 p.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 4 p.m.
“The hard work of staff of the Northern Community Development Services provides help and hope to laid-off workers and their families in Rainy River [District],” said Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro.
“Through Employment Ontario, the provincial government helps more than one million people each year find training and jobs, including many in the north,” he noted.
NCDS has delivered community-based programs to the district for more than 35 years.
It is honoured to have been selected to provide Employment Ontario’s vision of a “One-Stop-Shop” service in Rainy River District to job-seekers, employers, and individuals looking for training opportunities.
Services include employment counselling, job search support and workshops, resource centres and free computers with Internet access for job search exploration, referrals to other community programs, and access to government-funded programs such as Second Career Strategy and the Summer Jobs Service program for students ages 15-30.
