The Northwest Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce that, at its regular meeting on March 29, and in accordance with Ontario Regulation 462/97 (Native Representation on Boards), it has appointed Jim Leonard as a trustee.
Leonard, who is chief of Rainy River First Nations, also served as a member of the Fort Frances-Rainy River Board of Education from 1981-2006.
The role of the native trustee is to facilitate the Native Advisory Council. He also will be the voice that represents the First Nations’ communities that are served by the board.
We are very pleased to welcome Jim to the Northwest Catholic District School Board and look forward to working with him as a trustee.
