Muskie girls lose tough one

The Muskie girls’ hockey team put a good fight but came out on the short end of a 1-0 decision to the host Kenora Broncos on Tuesday night.
“The girls played really well,” said head coach Lynn Kellar. “We had a lot of scoring chances. It just wasn’t happening for us.”
During practice, the players have been polishing some things that may help them next time they square off against the Broncos.
“We have to get to the loose pucks, work on rebounds, and get more shots,” noted Kellar.
“The girls really took it to Kenora, but we just couldn’t get the puck in the net,” agreed assistant coach Chris Hill.
The Muskie girls face off next here against Red Lake tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the ’52 Canadians Arena and again tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. in the Ice for Kids Arena.
The boys’ squad also will face Red Lake for a pair of games this weekend—at 7:15 p.m. tonight in the Ice for Kids Arena and then tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in the ’52 Canadians Arena.
Both teams then will face the Dryden Eagles here on Tuesday night (Dec. 20).
