The Muskie boys’ hockey team still is looking for an experienced coach to bite the hook and agree to come behind the bench for the upcoming season.
Longtime coach Shane Bliss, the co-athletic director at Fort Frances High School, has been actively shopping around the vacant position since he stepped down in April—but has yet to get any serious interest.
“There was one gentleman I kind of spoke to, and that was just casually and there has been nothing since,” Bliss noted Monday.
“I have to talk to the guys I worked with last year to see if they are willing to look after things for a while,” he added. “But obviously I wish we would’ve had someone by last April, but no one is willing to jump into the big commitment that it is.”
Tryouts for the team are set to open Sept. 8.
