Celtic music lovers will get another chance to hear the sounds of Cape Breton when the five-member band ‘KILT’ takes to the stage next Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre here.
Being brought in by tour de Fort, KILT is not part of the regular passport series, meaning tickets are available to the public while supplies last.
Formed in Halifax just three years ago, KILT already has recorded two albums, been nominated for two East Coast music awards, and is reaping pride in their first video and single “Rubber Boots,” released last month.
The video can be seen in regular rotation on CMT.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring in a group with the level of talent of KILT,” Wanda Botsford, publicity co-ordinator for tour de Fort enthused yesterday, noting the group was travelling between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
“KILT’s music is pop-inflected folk with a light rock overtone and traditional Cape Breton fiddle sets,” she added.
Tickets, which cost $10 for adults and $5 for students aged 18 and under, are on sale at the Fort Frances Public Library.
