Planning to sort through your wardrobe while doing a little spring cleaning this weekend?
Looking to trade some gently-used clothes and get some newer outfits in return?
In the spirit of Earth Day, the Fort Frances Museum is organizing a clothing swap for Wednesday, April 24.
“Clothing swaps are a ‘green’ way of getting a new wardrobe while giving your own gently-worn clothing a second life,” reasoned organizer Samantha Manty, who is doing a student placement at the museum.
People will be able to drop off gently-worn clothing, accessories, and shoes at the museum in exchange for a ticket (they will get one ticket per item of clothing).
Then on the evening of April 24, the upstairs meeting room of the museum will be transformed into a “Swap Boutique,” noted Manty.
“Members of the community will be invited to come and exchange their tickets for items in the ‘store,’” she explained.
One ticket will purchase one item.
“It is sure to be a fun event, and is a great way for people to go shopping while also being ‘green,’” Manty added.
