Murder charges laid in deaths


A Fort Frances man is facing murder charges after two people were found dead at their Lakeview Trailer Park residence here earlier this week.
Tyler John Cousineau, 37, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
The accused (who is not related to someone of the same name who works at Gillons’ Insurance here) was scheduled to appear in court in Kenora March 8th.
Rainy River District OPP officers responded to a call for assistance at a residence in the Lakeview Trailer Park on Tuesday morning.
When they arrived, they found two people deceased in the residence.
The victims have been identified as 66-year-old Carol Affleck and 77-year-old Lovern Affleck, both of Fort Frances.
Members of the Rainy River District OPP, along with the OPP’s North West Region Crime Unit and the OPP’s Forensic Identification Unit from Kenora, continue to investigate this incident under the direction of Det. Insp. Randy Heida of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch.
