For a second year in a row, no election may be needed at Riverside Health Care Facilities Inc.’s annual general meeting next month as no one has stepped forward to sit on its board of directors.
“We’re looking for more people,” board chair Craig Sanders said Tuesday, noting the deadline to submit your name as a nominee is this Monday (May 27).
“No one has come forward. And one person [board member Linda Hamilton] is leaving,” he added.
The board currently consists of Sanders, vice-chair Percy Champagne, Robin Wright, Doug Hodge, Brigitta McGreevy, Riverside CEO Wayne Woods, Dr. Robert Algie (chief of staff), Julian Brunetta, Laurene Hannam, Dr. Lorena Jenks, Emily Watson, Cecil Ogden, Dr. Philip Whatley, and Catherine Bruyere.
At last year’s annual meeting, only Champagne, Wright, Hodge, and McGreevy were new to the board—the latter three filling vacancies left by Larry Armstrong, Norma-Jean Johnston, and Kim Engelbertink.
Riverside’s annual meeting is slated for June 27 at 7 p.m. in the board room (second floor at La Verendrye hospital).
Other business will include the year-end audit, committee reports, and an update on progress on Phase IV renovations at La Verendrye.
