With plans well underway for the third-annual Women’s Health Symposium here, organizers are extending the exhibitor registration deadline to March 26 in order to make this year’s event bigger and better than past years.
Entitled “Indulge, Inspire, Inform, and Go Green,” exhibitors are encouraged to embrace this year’s theme as much as possible by including “green” information, products, and decorations at their booth.
Potential exhibitors are urged to submit their booth registration and information to committee members as soon as possible since the event is slated for Saturday, May 10 at Fort Frances High School.
Past exhibitors should have received registration forms by e-mail and mail, but if they were somehow missed, they can be sure to receive a form by contacting committee member Dianne Faragher at 274-1983.
New exhibitors are always welcome, as well.
Some 60 exhibitors were featured at the symposium last year, which covered a wide range of women’s issues, including natural medicine, body massage, crisis management, and fitness.
Exhibitors once again will be set up in the high school’s large and small gyms and atrium, with the cafeteria the spotlight for lunch and nutrition breaks.
Guest speakers, who will be take the stage in the Townshend Theatre, will include Diane Clifford, Renate Winkler (a doctor of natural medicine and a pharmacist with Pharmasave in Fort Frances), Jackie Lampi-Hughes (Energy Fitness), Margaret Anderson, and Jo-ann Waytowich (“Ivanka”) from Thunder Bay.
“Ivanka,” a stand-up comedienne well-known for her unique brand of humour and song, performs to sold-out audiences across the country. She will present “Ivanka Goes Green!” that day.
Other speakers for the day-long event are yet to be confirmed.
Committee members also are hoping to elicit the continued support of area businesses and organizations through their sponsorship and/or in-kind donations, as these contributors are key to the success of the symposium.
