Millennium reunion to hold open meeting

On Jan. 11, the Fort Frances High school Millennium Reunion organizing committee will officially begin the six-month countdown to its July reunion.
The countdown will take place at the committee’s first meeting of the millennium at 7 p.m. in the Fort Frances High School cafeteria.
This open meeting is an invitation to the general public to learn more about the various activities planned for the three-day reunion, which is expected to attract more than 2,000 people to the district.
As well, it will be an opportunity for former high school students and staff to sign up early for the limited number of reunion registration spots still available.
During the evening, people attending the meeting also will have a chance to purchase reunion clothing, speak to the organizers, get an overview of the event schedule, and find out who already has registered for the reunion.
Historical Fort High photos and a video of the 1994 FFHS 75th Anniversary Reunion also will be on display.
Also at next Tuesday’s meeting, “helpers” who want to get involved with preparations for the reunion–either leading up to July or during the reunion “week”–will be able to sign up for a variety of activities, ranging from decorating to welcoming the registrants.
By volunteering, workers will be able to get a “sneak preview” of what the reunion really means to those taking part in the event.
There is no obligation to sign up as a helper but the people who seemed to have the greatest amount of enjoyment during the 1994 FFHS 75th Anniversary Reunion were the workers.
