Schreiber OPP received a call of an explosion at Terrace Bay Pulp Inc. in Terrace Bay yesterday around 4:45 p.m. (EST).
One person was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained.
The name of the victim will not be released pending notification of next-of-kin.
Two others were taken to McCausland Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office, the Ministry of Labour, the Coroner’s Office, and the OPP’s North West Region Crime Unit continue to investigate the incident.
The cause of the explosion was unknown as of press time.
