Métis Hall gets helping hand

The Sunset Country Métis put out a call last month for some help for their hall.
They ended up receiving help in the form of volunteers to do maintenance work, work in the kitchen, and help raise funds, Sunset Country Métis Coun. Wanda Botsford noted at last Wednesday night’s celebration marking Louis Riel Day.
She added musicians are putting together a benefit to help save the Métis Hall, which will be held in February at the Townshend Theatre and Fort High cafeteria.
Other people have donated food for future gatherings.
“It’s so heart-warming to know people care enough to come forward to help us save the hall,” said Botsford, adding more volunteers are welcome to step forth and lend helping hands.
For example, people are needed for a hall welcoming team (to open and close the hall for events) while others are needed to help create a business plan for the hall.
The hall can be rented for various functions, such as meetings, family gatherings, showers, funerals, and birthday parties.
