Men’s breakfast slated for Saturday

The monthly men’s breakfast meeting will take place this Saturday (Aug. 16) at 8 a.m. at the Emo Legion.
Costing $10 to attend, the featured speaker at the buffet breakfast will be Frank Drown from Kansas City, Mo., who can tell the story first-hand of five missionaries who were killed in Ecuador many years ago.
Frank and his wife, Marie, currently are involved in missions in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to listen to this man as he shares stories of the great things God has done—and continues to do—in his life.
The couple also will be speaking at the women’s meeting at the Christian Fellowship Chapel, located a half-mile north of Stratton, on Saturday at 10 a.m. and again Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Then they’ll be at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

More than 200 runners took part in the fifth-annual Yellow Rose 5K run/walk race at “The Point” in Warroad, Mn. on Saturday morning.
The Canadian contingent, who hailed from all over Northwestern Ontario, once again proudly represented our region.
The money raised from this race is going to be used to purchase trees that were destroyed in a tornado there two years ago.
The “Point Restoration” committee would like to plant 500 trees over the next five years.
