Saturday March 12

  • Memorial Sport Centre’s Open Ice: 12 and Under: 3:30-6 p.m.; Family: 6-7:30 p.m.; 13+ 7:30-9 p.m.

Sunday, March 13

  • The Fort Frances pool will fold a Family Swim from 10 a.m. to noon and a Toonie Swim from 2-5 p.m.
  • Memorial Sport Centre’s Open Ice: Family: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; 13+: 3:15-5:45 p.m.; 12 and Under: 4-5:30 p.m.
  • The Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club will hold March Break Loppet, starting at 11 a.m. Registration begins at 10:a.m. Come out to ski or cheer. Hot dogs and hot chocolate available, or feel free to bring your own goodies to share. Races open free of charge to all ages and skill levels. Choose from three loops – the 4 km White Pine Loop, 4 km Classic Cougar Loop or 1 km Classic Sprint Loop. The Club is located East of Fort Frances. Turn right at George Armstrong Road and follow the Rocky Inlet Road sign.

Monday, March 14

  • The Fort Frances Public Library and Technology Centre will be hosting an online St Patrick’s Magic Show, from 6:30-7:15 p.m. The event will be held over Zoom. Visit ffpltc.ca to register.
  • The Fort Frances pool will hold Family Swims from 10:30-noon and 5:30-7 p.m.
  • Memorial Sport Centre’s Open Ice: Family: 12-2 p.m.; 12 and Under: 1:15-2:45 p.m.; Toonie: 2-4 p.m.; 13+: 2:45-4:15.

Tuesday March 15

  • It’s Tallest Tower Tuesday at the Fort Frances library! Registration required at ffpltc.ca. Sign up with some friends or siblings, stop by from 2-3 p.m. and see how your team’s tower stacks up! Ideal for ages 8 and up.
  • The Fort Frances pool will hold Family Swims from 10:30-noon and 4-5:30 p.m and a Toonie Swim from 2-3:30 p.m.
  • Stop by the Fort Frances Museum to create a community spring-themed art exhibit. From 11 a.m. -4 p.m., stop by to create your own spring painting or paper butterfly or flower to add to the exhibit.

Wednesday March 16

  • Show how well you know your library with a drop-in Library Scavenger Hunt! Find the answers to all the clues, and be entered in the draw for prizes! Categories for age 5-8 and 9-12. Families welcome, too. Open all day.

Thursday March 17

  • It’s Baby Time! Join the Fort Frances Library for a St Patrick’s Day Baby Time, from 10:15-11 a.m. Registration required – spaces are limited.
  • The Fort Frances pool will hold Family Swims from 10:30-noon and 4-5:30 p.m and a Toonie Swim from 2-3:30 p.m.
  • The Fort Frances Museum has St. Patrick’s Themed kids activities planned from 1-3 p.m. Open to kids aged 4-12. Registration required. Call 274-7891 to sign up! $5/child.

Friday March 18

  • A Winter-Biboon Carnival will be held at the Couchiching Recreation Centre from noon to 3 p.m. Dogsledding, smoothboard races, snowshoeing food, skating and more. Please register for dogsledding with Lori: 271-4500 or lleduc@unfc.org.
  • Colour Your World drop-in event at the Fort Frances library lets you show your creative side! Check out the art stations, and display your work for others to see. Open all day – all ages welcome!

  • Switch Saturday lets you check out the Switch games available at the Fort Frances Library. There are 18 to choose from. Call 274-9879 to reserve your one-hour slot.
  • The Fort Frances pool will fold a Family Swim from 10:30 a.m. to noon and a Toonie Swim from 2-5 p.m.
  • A Show and Tea at the Fort Frances Museum will be held from 1-3 p.m. Stop by and enjoy a cup of tea, while exploring items from the collection, or bring an item of your own to share. In light of world events, the theme will be items of Ukrainian origin.
  • An Art Show, featuring the cumulative artwork created by patrons throughout the week will be on display at the Fort Frances Museum.
