Manitoulin not closing

While Manitoulin Transport Inc. is undergoing some company restructuring, it will not be closing its Fort Frances location anytime soon.
Contrary to a comment at the July 14 town council meeting that the local terminal of the trucking company would be closing, Manitoulin manager Tony Smith said during a phone call from Dryden on Friday that’s just not true.
Smith clarified the former part-time manager/driver recently was let go here as a part of company restructuring, but that the terminal will remain open, with him managing it as well as overseeing Manitoulin’s operations in Dryden, Kenora, Red Lake, and Pickle Lake.
He added the Dryden terminal always has overseen the Fort Frances operation, and that the change in staffing is a part of company restructuring.
