This past Saturday (April 19), Rainy River OPP officers responded to Rainy River High School after a report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave the premises.
Around 6:30 a.m., teachers and parents supervising the “30-Hour Famine” event were confronted by a male wanting to come into the school.
He was refused entry and advised to leave the school property.
The male person did leave, but later returned and gained entry into the school by breaking a glass door on the east entrance.
Police were called immediately and responded.
Dennis Richard Copenace Jr., 21, of Big Island First Nations was arrested and charged with break and enter and breach of his recognizance order.
He remained in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
