The Rainy River District OPP has charged an Atikokan male in connection with several break-ins that took place recently there.
In the early-morning hours of Dec. 9, the Atikokan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as the Quetico Inn, were the victims of break-and-enters.
Members of the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Rainy Rivers District OPP Crime Unit, as well as the Forensic Identification Section (FIS) from Thunder Bay, assisted members of the Atikokan OPP detachment.
As a result of an in-depth and thorough investigation, a 26-year-old Atikokan male was charged with two counts of break-and-enter, as well as two counts of possession of stolen property.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Atikokan on Jan. 26.
Meanwhile, an investigation into several other break-ins remains ongoing.
