From the OPP
On Oct. 3 around 3:20 p.m., members of the Rainy River District OPP received a trespassing call at a Fort Frances institution.
An officer attended the location and observed the man, subsequently asking him to leave the premises.
An investigation revealed the male had warrants for his arrest. Upon being informed of the warrants, he fled the scene on foot.
Following a short foot pursuit, the subject was located and became combative with officers.
He ultimately was arrested.
As a result, a 38-year-old Stanjikoming First Nation man was charged with resisting a peace officer, enter a premises when entry was prohibited, and assault.
He also was charged with failing to attend court (two counts) and breach of probation.
The accused was held in custody, with a court date set for today (Oct. 9).
