The Rainy River District OPP is investigating a report of a male who fell out of a canoe while travelling through Quetico Provincial Park.
Shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday, OPP officers received information that an emergency GPS locator beacon had been deployed in the park.
OPP officers, with assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources, responded to the area of McAree Lake, where they have been conducting marine patrols in search of the missing male.
The OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was expected to arrive on the scene this afternoon.
