At its annual meeting held Aug. 27, the board of directors of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care appointed Livia Lundon to the position of chairman.
Lundon has been on the board since 2010 and has acted as vice-chair since 2011.
She also sits on the Foundation’s special events committee.
Lundon replaces Deane Cunningham, who served as chairman for the past three years.
Cunningham has been a strong leader and a great asset to the Foundation. He headed up the very successful “Just Imagine” campaign in 2006-07 to bring a CT Scanner to Rainy River District.
He will remain on the board to complete his three-year term.
“Deane is a great board member and leader,” said
Foundation director Nicke Baird.
“He is very generous, thoughtful, and committed to our organization and this community,” she added.
Baird said she looks forward to working with Lundon, as well.
“She has a proven track record as a dedicated volunteer in our organization and is very committed to health care,” Baird noted.
Meanwhile, Kim-Jo Bliss will replace Lundon as vice-chair of the board. She has served on the board since 2011.
In regards to other nominations, Craig Sanders officially was appointed as the Riverside board rep while John McTaggart will serve another three-year term.
Allan Katz was appointed as the Riverside CEO representative.
Bev Langner was re-appointed as the Rainy River Auxiliary rep, Heather Oltsher was re-appointed as the Emo Auxiliary rep, and June Keddie will represent both the La Verendrye and the Rainycrest Auxiliary on the board.
The Foundation’s next event will be an “Evening in Paris” on Oct. 13 at the Memorial Sports Centre auditorium.
